A unique variety of musical styles played on four instruments and vocals combine with personality, warmth and humor to bring joy and community to senior groups of all kinds.

Starting in 2003 with a few performances in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area, in recent years James Kellerman’s work in senior citizen communities has snowballed into a 300-engagement-per-year, full time and nationwide touring organization. Surpassing 5,000 dates in 2,500 communities over 16 years, the program features James performing on two saxophones, flute, clarinet and vocals and is available in a “One Man Band” setting, or with piano as a duo, or with the Kellerman White Torrey Trio. For the “One Man Band” James has invested in creating exceptionally high-quality “Live Instrument” background tracks (no synthesizers) and provides his own professional quality PA system which is perfect for most rooms.

With a background in jazz, classical, and composition, James can have fun swinging hard with the saxophone on a big band tune, just as well as he can sensitively interpret a romantic period flute piece. Within the hour you may also hear a Hoagy Carmichael standard on clarinet, a Stevie Wonder tune on flute, and an original composition. Spontaneous singing and dancing regularly arises. James specifically and intentionally performs music that uplifts, inspires and brings life to an audience. Listen to the samples below and call or email to schedule a performance.
